Brittney Veler (Santa Rosa, Calif.) started the inning by hitting a double and was then advanced to third on a sacrifice bunt by Vanessa Portillo (Chatsworth, Calif.). Veler was then brought home when Crista San Antonio (East Meadow, N.Y.) hit a sacrifice fly to right field.

- Villanova made the score 3-1 in the top of the sixth by scoring another run.
- The Friars responded in the bottom of the sixth when Rurka scored on a wild pitch.
- Providence would be unable to score again and would drop the game, 3-2.
