PROVIDENCE, R.I.- The Providence College softball team defeated Boston College (10-12), 7-4, on Tuesday, March 18 at the Brown Softball Field in Providence, R.I. The Friars moved to 7-16 overall this season with the win.
Cameron Dunn (Bothell, Wash.) went 3-for-3 at the plate with a home run and three RBI.
GAME NOTES
- The Eagles opened the scoring in the top of the first inning to take a 1-0 lead.
- Cameron Dunn (Bothell, Wash.) ripped an RBI single with two outs in the first inning to tie the game at 1-1.
- After the Eagles re-gained the lead at 2-1 in the second inning, Bella Sebestian (Ramsey, N.J.) gave Providence a 3-2 lead with a two-run home run, her first of the season.
- Boston College added two runs in the top of the third inning to take a 4-3 lead.
- Dunn continued her strong day at the plate with a two-run home run in the bottom of the third to put Providence up 5-4.
- The Friars added an insurance run in the bottom of the fifth as Emma Eichten (Alamo, Calif.) scored on a groundout from Emma Douma (Midland Park, N.J.)
- Gabriella Lee (Belmont, Calif.) added an RBI single in the bottom of the sixth to extend the Providence lead to 7-4.
- Alyssa Twomey (Warwick, R.I.) pitched five innings for the Friars. The sophomore surrendered no runs on four hits with three strikeouts for her second win of the season.

The Friars are back to BIG EAST play from March 21-23 on the road at DePaul University.
