The Friars will play the Pirates in a three-game series from April 4-6.
PROVIDENCE, R.I.– The Providence College softball team will host the Seton Hall Pirates in a three-game BIG EAST beginning on Friday, April 4 on Glay Field in Providence, R.I. The series will open with a doubleheader at 2:00 p.m., followed by game two scheduled for 4:00 p.m. The series finale will take place on April 6 at 12:00 p.m., with all games available for viewing on FloSports.
SCOUTING PROVIDENCE
Providence enters this weekend's series with a 12-20 overall record, including a 6-6 mark in BIG EAST play. The Friars most recently defeated the Boston University Terriers, 3-2, (April 3) in a thrilling comeback game that ended in a walk off single in the bottom of the seventh. Wednesday's triumph over BU marked the first win over the Terriers since 2021.
Senior Rachael Petrarca (Tampa, Fla.) delivered the walk-off single in the bottom of the seventh to give the Friars the 3-2 win over the Terriers. Petrarca registered strong performances at the plate in the Friars' four games last week, recording five hits, three RBI and five runs scored. She finished the four games with a .846 slugging percentage and a .500 on-base percentage.
Sophomore Emma Eichten (Alamo, Calif.) leads the BIG EAST in doubles (five), ranks seventh in hits (13 in BIG EAST), and stands ninth in on-base percentage (.512). She recorded four hits across the Friars' four games last week.
Sophomore Cameron Dunn (Bothell, Wash.) paced the Friars last week with a team-high seven hits, three RBIs, and three runs scored, posting a .500 batting average and an impressive .857 on-base percentage. She played a key role in the Friars' 10-1 victory over URI, sparking the offense with a two-run triple to open the scoring. Dunn leads the squad with 34 hits, seven home runs and 28 RBI. She currently holds a .742 slugging percentage and a .481 on-base percentage.
Sophomore Alyssa Twomey (Warwick, R.I.) finished last week's play with a 1-2 record and a 2.62 ERA. She pitched a total of 16 innings while conceding only six earned runs and 11 hits. Twomey registered 12 strikeouts and a .190 batting against average.
SCOUTING SETON HALL
Seton Hall heads into the weekend series with a 22-14 overall record and a 7-5 standing in BIG EAST competition. Most recently, the Pirates swept a doubleheader against Army on April 2, taking the first game with a 7-1 victory and following up with a 10-5 win in the second.
Taylor Hill and Kelsey Carr co-lead the lineup for the Pirates, holding batting averages of .371 and .362, respectively. The duo each earned a spot on the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll after leading the squad to two wins in a three-game set over Villanova last week. Hill finished the team's five games last week with a .789 batting average and a .813 slugging percentage, finishing with three runs scored, four doubles and a three-run homer that set a program record in career runs scored for the senior. She currently leads the team in batting average (.371), hits (39) and doubles (12). Carr, a two-way player, concluded last week's action with two complete game wins for a 2-0 record with a 1.98 ERA and 10 strikeouts. At the plate, Carr hit .385/.529/.923 with four runs scored, two home runs and four RBI. Carr currently leads the batting lineup in home runs (12) and slugging percentage (.819). She commands the pitching staff with a 3.12 ERA, 10-3 record and 56 strikeouts.

The Friars will host Harvard in a non-conference game on Tuesday, April 8 at Glay Field in Providence, R.I. The matchup is slated for 4:00 p.m., streaming on FloSports.
