PROVIDENCE, R.I.- The Providence College softball team will host DePaul in a three-game BIG EAST series from March 20-21 on Glay Field in Providence, R.I. The series will open with a doubleheader on Friday, March 20 at 2:00 p.m. and 4:30 p.m., before concluding with a single game on Saturday, March 21 at 1:00 p.m. Saturday's game will serve as the program's annual senior day, with a ceremony held postgame. SCOUTING PROVIDENCE
Providence enters the series with an 8-11 record and a 2-1 mark in BIG EAST play. The Friars went 4-1 last week, sweeping a non-conference doubleheader against Stonehill and taking two of three games from Creighton to secure a BIG EAST series victory.

Sofia Peterson (Bordentown, N.J.) was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll following her strong offensive performance in the Friars' most recent games. The senior hit .643, recording two doubles and two home runs while driving in eight RBI. She also posted a .632 on-base percentage and finished the weekend with a 1.214 slugging percentage. Peterson leads the team with a .451 batting average, which ranks fourth in the BIG EAST.

Cameron Dunn (Bothell, Wash.) has had an impressive season for Providence so far. The infielder has earned BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll recognition twice and paces the Friars with eight home runs, 20 RBI and a 1.000 slugging percentage. Her eight home runs are tied for first in the BIG EAST.

Alyssa Twomey (Warwick, R.I.) leads the pitching staff with a 4-1 record and a 3.54 ERA. She has recorded 27 strikeouts in 31.2 innings pitched.

DePaul enters the series with a 12-15 overall record and a 3-3 mark in BIG EAST play. Most recently, the Blue Demons earned two wins over Georgetown to take the series.

Jolie Adams and Chelesa Parker co-lead the lineup for the Blue Demons, hold batting averages of .431 and .385, respectively. Adams has recorded 10 RBI and owns a .465 on-base percentage. Parker ranks second in the BIG EAST with 27 RBI and leads the team with a .785 slugging percentage and seven home runs.

Hannah Messer leads the pitching staff with a 3.16 ERA and a 6-7 record. She has recorded 40 strikeouts across 75.1 innings pitched.
