PROVIDENCE, R.I.- The Providence College softball team (16-14, 7-2 BIG EAST) will host St. John's (26-13, 6-6 BIG EAST) in a three-game BIG EAST series from April 10-12 on Glay Field in Providence, R.I. The series opener is scheduled for Friday, April 10 at 2:00 p.m. Game two is on Saturday, April 11 at 1:00 p.m., followed by game three on Sunday, April 12 at 12:00 p.m. All games will be streamed on FriarsLive.
SCOUTING PROVIDENCE
Providence enters this weekend's series having won 12 of its last 15 games. The Friars recently opened BIG EAST play with a program-best 7-1 start. Additionally, their eight-game winning streak- which tied a school record- came to an end in the series finale against Seton Hall earlier this season.
In Wednesday's game against Boston University,
Cameron Dunn (Bothell, Wash.) recorded her 100
th career hit while also tying the single season program record for home runs (12). In addition to Dunn, Providence has two players closing in on 100 career hits.
Sofia Peterson (Bordentown, N.J.) and
Elisa Smith (Glen Allen, Va.) are all within single digits of the milestone.
Freshman Nikki Gallardo (Lexington, S.C.) recently earned BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll recognition after a standout performance in a pair of non-conference games, hitting .833 (5-for-6). She totaled two doubles, two runs scored, and four RBI during the week. For the season, Gallardo is batting .250 with 11 RBI.
Emily Jonte (Allen, Texas) has provided a strong start for the Friars, posting a .375 batting average. The senior has recorded 24 hits, 10 RBI, and a .500 slugging percentage. Jonte was named BIG EAST Player of the Week earlier this season following her performance in a weekend sweep of DePaul.
Dunn has had an impressive season for Providence so far. The infielder has been featured on the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll three times and leads the team with 38 RBI, 12 home runs, and a .929 slugging percentage while batting .412. Her 12 home runs are tied for first in the BIG EAST, while her slugging percentage ranks second in the conference.

Alyssa Twomey (Warwick, R.I.) leads the pitching staff with a 6-1 record and a 3.58 ERA. She has recorded 41 strikeouts across 45.0 innings pitched, and her ERA ranks sixth in the BIG EAST.
Tori Grifone recently earned BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll recognition after a dominant outing against Dayton. She tossed 5.0 shutout innings, striking out eight while holding opponents to a .000 batting average. For the season, Grifone holds a 4-5 record with a 4.40 ERA and 28 strikeouts across 28.2 innings pitched.
SCOUTING ST. JOHN'S
The Red Storm enter this weekend's series with a 26-13 overall record and an even 6-6 mark in BIG EAST play.
Jess Bianco leads St. John's offensively, batting .410 with 25 RBI and a .465 on-base percentage. London Slade has also been a key contributor, hitting .364, while Elanna Lysiak adds power to the lineup with a .288 average, three home runs and a .500 slugging percentage. Natasha Limbani has contributed across the board, batting .316 with three home runs and 24 RBI.
In the circle, Ana Serafinko anchors the pitching staff with a 14-6 record in 29 appearances and a 2.43 ERA, which ranks first in the BIG EAST. She has recorded an impressive 197 strikeouts in 138.1 innings of work. Loreley Francia has also been a strong option, posting a 12-6 record with a 3.16 ERA and 96 strikeouts across 115.1 innings pitched.
